Neat & Tidy Finish
Bay windows are a familiar feature of many Victorian homes, but they’re also a popular addition to modern properties across Dublin. They can be fitted in several areas of the home, with living rooms and kitchens among the most popular choices. Depending on the chosen configuration, the two side windows can be made openable, helping air enter the room from different directions. Bay window installation requires precise measurement and careful alignment.
Our team of expert fitters have over 30 years’ experience installing bay windows across Dublin and have the expertise to turn your window into a focal point in your home. We can design your bespoke uPVC bay window to your exact requirements, or if a bay window isn’t the right fit for the room, our Casement Windows range offers a simpler alternative.
A bay window usually consists of three or more glazed sections, often with a larger central window and two angled side windows, typically set at 30°, 45°, 60° or 90° degrees. When properly designed for the property, a bay window can become an attractive focal point while making the room feel brighter and more spacious.

Transform the look of your home, inside and out, with Horizon’s bespoke bay windows.
Our windows are manufactured to NSAI Window Energy Performance standards and can achieve a Window Energy Rating of band A, helping you contain and conserve energy whilst increasing your home’s value.
Bay windows can improve the appearance of your home, both inside and out. They bring more light in and make the room look more spacious. The additional space can be styled with plants, storage or a comfortable window seat.
With the option to open two side windows, there is better air circulation, making the room more airy and fresh.
The angled design draws more daylight into your home than a flat window of the same width.
A well-designed bay window may add appeal for future buyers, both inside and outside the property.
We have confidence in our product and are happy to offer a 10+ year guarantee on all our installations.

Our process begins with a consultation to discuss your plans, survey the existing opening and answer your questions. Before installation starts, we protect nearby floors and furniture with dust sheets.
Our fitters then check that the opening is correctly sized, level and structurally suitable.
The bay window sections are positioned using appropriate packers and fixings, before insulation, flashing and weather-resistant sealant are applied where required.
Finally, we complete the finishing trims, inspect the operation of each window and clean the working area thoroughly.
uPVC bay windows are relatively easy to maintain. Clean the frames and glass around twice a year, or more often in coastal locations and heavily exposed areas. Lubricate hinges, handles and locking points annually. Keep drainage openings clear and inspect seals periodically for signs of wear.
Effort Level:
uPVC: Generally considered slightly easier to maintain than aluminium.
Cleaning Frequency:
Cleaning: it require cleaning at least twice a year, more often in harsh environments.
Lubrication: It requires lubrication of moving parts (hinges, etc.) once a year. Learn more about how to tighten window hinges through our guide.
Other Checks: It requires occasional checks of drainage holes and weatherstripping/seals for wear and tear.
Specific Considerations:
uPVC: You don’t need any special cleaning steps, other than any regular routine.
Insulated as Standard: Horizon Windows offers well-insulated bay windows, manufactured to NSAI Window Energy Performance standards, designed to improve comfort and reduce heat loss.
Triple Glazing Available: triple-glazed windows give high insulation and helps keep your home warm, saving on energy bills.
Why Upgrade Your Windows: you can enjoy fewer draughts, improved comfort and straightforward ongoing maintenance. Explore our Aluminium Bay Windows if a slimmer aluminium frame suits your property better, or our Tilt and Turn Windows for a different opening style entirely.
They are called bay windows because they project outward from the main wall of a building, creating a bay-shaped recess inside the room. This projecting design provides additional interior space and a wider view outside.
Angled sections suit a mix of styles better than a single blind stretched across the bay, so most homeowners fit Roman or Venetian blinds to the two side windows and a wider roller or vertical blind to the central pane.
Measure and fit each section separately, allowing enough clearance where the blind mechanisms meet at the corners. Cordless blinds are a practical choice for family homes. Where a cord or chain is used, it should include a compliant safety device and remain safely out of children’s reach.
Like-for-like window replacement generally doesn’t require planning permission, but adding a new bay window, particularly on a front elevation, or altering a protected structure, may require permission. See our guide to planning permission for windows for more detail, or check with your local authority before work begins.
Look for a Window Energy Rating of band A, in line with NSAI standards, for the strongest insulation and the lowest heating costs.
